This Creamy Cherckerspot Butterfly was photographed in the San Francisco Bay Area. Males patrol meadow foliage for receptive females. These butterflies typically fly between April and July. Adult females lay clusters of pale green eggs on the underside of select herb plants. The caterpillars are black with white dots and orange dashes.
